Early Access game

Play the alpha now and get involved as the game develops.

Jet Combat Sim is playable now, but it is not the final version. Expect new content, balance changes, rough edges and some bugs. If you are not excited to play it in its current state, wait to see how development goes.

What the developers have to say

Why Early Access?

We are two brothers and a small studio. The game is already fun to fly. Early Access lets us ship updates often and hear what pilots like and what they do not while we develop the game.

How long will it stay in Early Access?

We estimate approximately six months of further development toward a polished multiplayer and PvE experience. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed release date; the schedule may change as development progresses. Updates will ship as they are ready.

What is in the game today?

Playable now: 26 fighters and attack jets, 7 bombers, 4 transports and a spy plane, Career mode with credits and a hangar, Ranked low-pass scoring with a world leaderboard, guns, missiles and flares, three biomes (forested mountains, desert canyons and tropical islands), destructible terrain and an endless world, offline play and an interface in 15 languages. Windows and Linux.

What is planned for the final version?

Our development focus is a polished multiplayer and PvE experience. The following features are planned, not a description of the current alpha:

  • A campaign with cities, villages and roads you can destroy, on a map with a moving front line and fog of war.
  • Multiplayer free-roam servers, available around the clock, with proximity chat.

How do you involve the community?

Our Discord is where we talk with pilots: bug reports, plane requests and votes on what comes next.

About this game

Fly low. Aim high. Fly fast and close to the ground: skim the tree line, then pull up into the fight.

Low passes score. Guns, missiles and flares settle the fights. Every impact marks the voxel terrain.

FLY RUNS

LOW PASSES

A run scores your best low passes and hedge-hopping. Lower and faster means more points.

DESTROY THE ENEMY

AIR COMBAT

Guns, missiles and flares. Destroy as many enemies as you can. Hold the turn, take the shot.

Key strengths

Simulated flight physics.

Jets have their own weight, thrust, wings and drag. Climbs bleed speed, stalls are real.

Ultra-intuitive mouse control.

Airborne in seconds, or plug in a gamepad or joystick.

38 aircraft.

All playable, from the Me 262 to the B-52.

An infinite procedural voxel world.

Three biomes: forested mountains, desert canyons and tropical islands, and terrain you can destroy.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how our game uses AI Generated Content like this:

  • Pre-generated content that ships with the game:
    • Interface: the menus and the in-flight aircraft HUD artwork.
    • Aircraft 3D models: every aircraft model.
    • Music: every track, made with Suno.
    • App icon: the game's app icon.
  • Development tools: code is written with help from Claude Code, an AI coding assistant, and is reviewed by the developers.
  • Live-generated content: none. The game does not generate any content with AI while it runs: no AI-driven dialogue, images, audio or text at runtime.

How we make this game: what we can make by hand, we make by hand. What we can afford to pay for, we pay real people to make. We use AI tools only when there is no other way to get the game out. Generative AI allowed me to give my vision to the game, and then we will make something better out of it, and more polished.
